Jacob Noah Macalolooy (maca-lolo-oy) is a martial artist and professional boxer from Union City, CA. Macalolooy has over 20 years of experience in martial arts and combat sports with his foundation in Kajukenbo and wrestling.  He began his martial arts journey at the Dragons Den, a school led by Jeff Macalolooy, Jacob’s father.

At the Den, Jacob was exposed to several other martial arts like Eskrima, Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu, and boxing; he also had the opportunity to teach and lead classes at a young age. He competed in karate tournaments and fought in kickboxing and pankration (MMA) “smokers” (exhibition bouts) throughout his youth. By the time Macalolooy turned 14, he earned his black belt in Kajukenbo.

Simultaneously, Macalolooy was a dedicated athlete for James Logan's historic wrestling program where he eventually became a two-time NCS champion and a CIF state medalist. These accomplishments led to his recruitment to Columbia University’s Division I wrestling team. Macalolooy competed as a starter at 141 and 149 pounds, earned two EIWA conference medals, and graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Along with a strong family support system, Macalolooy credits his discipline training in martial arts to his success in higher education and athletics. Upon graduation at Columbia, Macalolooy moved to San Diego to train at The Arena Combat Sports Gym to compete in amateur boxing.

After falling short on qualifying for the Olympic trials, he shifted his focus on turning pro in boxing under his elite coach, Basheer Abdullah. Macalolooy won his professional debut in August of 2021 via 4th round TKO.
